Home of the Desert Shadows

Project Description

For this project, I had to design a house with no artificial lighting.

Concept Statement

By using natural landforms to define the use of light in each of the spaces, this design is deeply connected to and celebrates the natural environment. When considering spaces with no artificial light, I immediately thought of natural landforms. Particularly, natural landforms located in the American southwest. They set a great precedent and commentary on how spaces should interact with the sun, showing that there is beauty in chance. Each space within this design is based off of a different natural feature within the American southwest, and how it interacts with the sun.

All perspectives rendered in Revit and Enscape.
